What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. MatesPlace also uses browser or app storage, such as local storage, to support account features and remember your choices. Optional activity measurement is separate from essential account and security storage.

Storage and measurement on MatesPlace

Essential storage

Supports authentication, security and core account features. Turning optional measurement off does not disable this storage. Blocking essential storage in your browser may prevent account features from working.

Preference storage

Remembers choices you deliberately make, such as current filters, saved requirements, interface settings and private draft recovery. These work with optional analytics off. Saving on this device does not by itself save a draft to your account.

Optional first-party activity measurement

Helps us understand use of supported public pages and marketplace actions. It stays off until you choose to enable it and remains off when your browser privacy signal is enabled.

External analytics and advertising

Google Analytics and advertising measurement are currently disabled. Enabling optional first-party activity measurement does not enable these external tools.

Help improve MatesPlace with optional first-party activity measurement. No messages, contact details, exact addresses, listing descriptions or photos are included in activity events. Your account, saved choices and manual listing creation work with this off.

Off by default. Your choice applies only to this browser or app on this device and this website address, for the current signed-out or signed-in account context. It is not transferred when you sign in or switch accounts. A grant is reviewed after 180 days; a rejection stays off until you change it. Google Analytics and advertising measurement remain paused.

AI assistance, remembered recommendation choices, notifications, marketing, device permissions and publication each have their own controls. This switch does not change them.

What is remembered

Sign-in and requested work	Authentication, security, draft recovery and deliberately saved choices follow their account or device controls. Optional analytics is not required.
Privacy choice	The purpose, notice version and choice time are kept for this browser/app, website address and current account context. Grants expire after 180 days. Rejections remain until changed; ordinary app updates do not reset them.
Optional measurement	A random measurement session lasts up to 30 minutes in this tab. Unsent events stay in memory for no more than 30 seconds. Turning analytics off discards them and removes this session.
Consented sign-up attribution	A consented sign-up hint may last up to 7 days in this tab; a grant is not carried into a newly signed-in account. For an existing consented account link, a local receipt lasts up to 90 days so an existing server link can be withdrawn when you turn analytics off. This does not record your messages or form text.
Remembered recommendations	Separately enabled account choices can keep an offer you mark “Not relevant” out of recommendations for up to 30 days, separately by market. Ordinary browsing is not used to learn a profile.
Optional saved-room learning	A separate, off-by-default account choice can use new, confirmed room saves to suggest a tentative furnishing preference for eligible related suggestions. Only current eligible saves from the last 30 days after permission or reset contribute. Earlier saves, views and private content do not. Reset, withdrawal or forgetting excludes earlier evidence without deleting your saved rooms. This choice is separate for Australia and the United States and may be unavailable until enabled for the service.

Withdrawal stops future optional collection and cancels pending requests where possible. A request already delivered cannot be unsent. If saving a privacy choice fails, analytics stays off in this open page; we explain when we cannot remember the choice for future visits.

Browser privacy signals keep optional measurement off; they do not automatically change deliberately saved requirements or either account recommendation choice. Our marketplace country selector does not decide your legal jurisdiction. Review remembered recommendation choices.

Service-provider information

Maps and address search, social sign-in, payment and optional verification make requests needed for those services and have their own privacy notices. Map performance telemetry is disabled where supported; essential map delivery requests are separate from this analytics control. Camera, photos, location and notifications use separate device permissions. Selecting photos does not permit AI processing or publication.
